Opatrně je správně (Tight is right)
Jako první hráč po Big Blindu se podíváte na kombinaci jako je např. KJ, AJ, TJ v barvě, 89 v barvě, KT nebo na KQ .. co uděláte ? Odpověď je jednoduchá. Všechny tyto kombinace jednoduše zahodíte. Nezkušení hráči se asi teď chytají za hlavu, ale věřte, že dlouhodobě nelze tyto karty z této pozice hrát plusově. Za vámi je ještě např. 8 dalších hráčů a ty budou mít často lepší kombinaci než vy. V nejhorším možném případě budou mít vaše karty tzvn. dominated (vy budete mit například KQ a oni AK a na flop přijde K83, v tu chvíli jste odsouzeni k prohře, zbytečné prohře). Proto hrajte opravdu opatrně a jak už název odstavce napovídá, čekejte opravdu jen na ty nejlepší možné kombinace. V blindech např. na NL10 zaplatíte za jedno kolo 0,05 + 0,10, což je 0,15 USD za to, abyste se podívali na cca 9 startovních kombinací. Když si počkáte na nejlepší kombinaci a podaří se vám např. vyhrát 2 USD, právě jste si zaplatili možnost podívat se na dalších cca 120 startovních kombinací (13.3 * 9)!
Když máte, vsaďte (Never slowplay)
Základní chyba začátečníků texas holdem online pokeru je obava z toho, že vám vaši soupeří vaše dobré karty nezaplatí a proto hrajete vaše dobré karty slabě a necháte soupeři nějakou tu kartu chytit zadarmo, aby vám pak zaplatil více. To je úplně špatně. Často příjde nějaká scare card (karta do postupky, do barvy atd.), která totálně utlumí akci a soupeř už vám nezaplatí to, co by původně zaplatil dříve, než tato karta přišla. Proto jakmile máte dobrou kombinaci, sázejte, zvyšujte, choďte All-in a nikdy jen nedorovnávejte. Vyjímky jsou kombinace jako poker, nebo čístá postupka na flopu. Tyto kombinace jsou prakticky neohrozitelné a proto čas od času můžete zkusit soupeři jednu kartu dát zadarmo, ale jen v případě takto silných kombinací, kde je skoro nulová pravděpodobnost, že váš soupeř mohl vůbec něco chytit.
Hra před flopem (Preflop Play)
A nyní se již vrhneme na konkrétní pokerové startovní kombinace. Jaké hrát, z jaké pozice je hrát a hlavně jak je hrát.
- Vysoké páry (High pairs) - AA,KK
Toto jsou ty nejlepší kombinace ve texas holdem poker hře. Na nic nečejte a zvyšujte je z každé pozice, když někdo zvýší před vámi, navyšte ještě aspoň 3x tolik co on a pokud možno, jděte All-in už před floppem. Standartní zvýšení před flopem je na microstakes 4-5x BB + 1x BB za každého limpera (např. na NL10 je to 0.50 USD + 0.10 USD za každého, kdo před vámi dorovnal Big blind).
- Ostatní páry (Pairs) - QQ,JJ,TT,99,88,77,66,55,44,33,22
Kombinace QQ a JJ můžete zvýšit před flopem z Middle a Late Position a hrát je podobným způsobem jako AA,KK. Ovšem na sebemenší odpor neváhejte a karty zahoďte. Jinak všechny ostatní páry dorovnávejte před flopem. Pokud před / za vámi někdo navýší, řiďte se pravidlem dorovnání pouze pokud daný hráč navýšil maximálně 1/10 jeho stacku (peněz u stolu). Páry se hrají hlavně proto, že mají potenciál chytit na flopu set (trojici) a to je potom velmi silná kombinace. Set chytíte cca v 12% procentech případů. Jakmile chytíte set, neváhejte a navyšte. Často budete proti AA,KK,QQ a protihráč vám odevzdá všechny své peníze. Ovšem pokud držíte například 99 a na flop přijde 752, svoje karty nepřeceňujte a řaději na odpor položte.
- Vysoké karty (Big cards) - AK,AQ,AJ,AT,KQ
Karty typu AK, AQ jsou také velmí silné kombinace. Jsou ale podmíněny tím, že musíte na flopu chytit A, K nebo Q. To se ovšem stane pouze v cca 36% případů. Proto je zde namístě tzvn. Continuation Bet, což je sázka potom co jste vsadili před flopem, i když vaše karty netrefí. Continuation Bet si ovšem předem rozmyslete a sázejte jen proti maximálně jednomu nebo dvěma hráčům. Někdy je ale lepší zahrát raději check / fold. Skupinu AJ, AT, KQ hrajte pouze z Late Position a jen pokud k vám hráči všichni foldnou (maximálně jeden limper). Samozřejmě všechny tyto kombinace před flopem zvyšujte podle stejného pravidla jako s High Pairs.
- Barevná esa (Suited Aces) - AXs – jakékoliv eso s jinou kartou v barvě
Takovéto kombinace mají za účel chytit na flopu buď 4 karty do barvy (nebo rovnou Flush), nebo 2 páry. Dorovnávejte pouze big blind a na jakékoliv navýšení bez přemýšlení pokládejte. V případě, že vám na flopu příjdou 4 karty do barvy a ještě pár k tomu, neváhejte a navyšte klidně i all-in. V tu chvíli nejste favorit jen proti setu a dvěma párům. Pokud chytíte „pouze“ 4 karty do barvy, tak se na flopu držte pravidla, že nedorovnávejte více, než polovinu banku. V případě, že někdo před vámi vsadí více než je polovina banku, pokládejte. Jakmile vám vaše karta přijde, vsázejte ½ až ¾ banku.
